During his residency at the Raanana Symphonette Orchestra, Oren Lok’s music was performed on tours, festivals and special concerts, in Israel and Europe.
Future engagements include a new work for Mandolin and guitar, to be released on a CD by Naxos Music and a piece for Mandolin and string orchestra, to be performed by the Israel Rishon Lezion Symphony Orchestra.
As an arranger for the Israeli Andalusian Orchestra, Oren works with the country’s leading popular singers, as well as traditional Andalusian cantors.
As a film scoring graduate student at NYU, Oren has scored many short films and documentaries.
In April 2017, his score for a short animation won the NYU annual film scoring competition, and has been performed by the NYU Symphonic Orchestra.
Also a pianist, Oren writes and performs for the instrument in a piano duo dedicated to original music that he formed with pianist Rinat Tsodyks.
Oren holds a bachelor’s degree in piano performance from Tel Aviv University, and in composition from the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance. As of 2016, he is studying composition for films and multimedia at NYU Steinhardt.
